In the focus point in the top hangs the 'Geluidmachine', consisting of 5 bamboo-flutes. Your ears are located at the other focus point. You can hear the softest sounds and details because by the special way this building is designed, the sound gets concentrate, see also here.
Passages is a 55 min. basic composition continuously varied by a special designed program, resulting in a 12 hour work. The recording contains the basic 55 min. composition. The computer controls the loudness and harmonics of the flutes, as well as glissandi and valves by using special devices (servo-motors controlled with OSC-messages) attached to the flutes.
